Get involved in helping us take steps to a brighter tomorrow!

Thank you for your interest in participating in the National Spring-for-SIDS Campaign. You are joining thousands of others across the country in the fight against Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Choose a short name for your team. (This should be the name of the company, hospital, school, community association, etc., where the event will be held.) Then have some one agree to be your co-captain.

Expectations of Participants

  • Each team must have two co-captains with whom we can readily communicate by email and phone.
  • An administrator at the organization must email or fax us to signify management’s approval. A letter is included in the Planning Packet (see # 1 below) to provide to the administrator.
  • The minimum raised by a team should be at least $125 (25 stickers).
  • Most teams will raise between $500 and $3000 each.
  • All unsold stickers must be returned. Order only the amount you can realistically sell.
  • In addition to selling stickers, captains should solicit donations from individuals and organizations.
  • Individuals or organizations who would like to make credit card donations for Spring-for-SIDS can do so at www.sids.org. Have them put your team’s name in the space that says, in honor of, so that you get credit for the donation. (All on-line donations made in January - March 2008 will receive 4 Spring-for-SIDS stickers. Minimum on-line donation is $25.)
  • Teams raising the most money through sticker sales and donations will be eligible for prizes.

Directions

  1. Download and review the captains' Planning Packet. [SFS Planning Packet.zip]. The Planning Packet zip file contains the following files:
  2. Choose your co-captain.
  3. Choose your team name.
  4. Get approval from your administrator.
  5. Estimate the number of stickers you need.
  6. Complete the form below and submit it electronically.
  7. Convene a steering committee to help promote the event.
  8. Devise a plan for promoting the event to potential participants.
  9. An Implementation Packet with cards, stickers and other materials will be mailed to captains.
  10. Promote the event, sell stickers and solicit donations.
  11. Celebrate Spring-for-SIDS Day on Friday, April 18, 2008.
  12. Submit all paperwork, money and unsold stickers by Friday, April 25.
